Emma Stone
Emily Jean Stone, also known as Emma was
born in Scottsdale, Arizona on November 6, 1988 to Krista Jean Stone (nee
Yeager), who is a housewife, and Jeffrey Charles Stone (CEO of the company that
founded the contracting business and chief executive officer). She is of
Swedish, German & British Isles descent. Stone began acting when she
was a young participant in the Valley Youth Theatre in Phoenix, Arizona, where
she made her stage debut in an adaptation of Kenneth Grahame's "The Wind in
the Willows". Stone was a part of numerous productions in her early teens,
and at the age of 15 she decided to make acting her career. According to the
official account she presented an PowerPoint slide presentation that was
supported by the Madonna's Hollywood and dubbed "Project Hollywood"
in an attempt to convince her parents to allow her to drop out of school and
relocate to Los Angeles. She and her mother made the pitch and moved to LA. The
schooling she had taken was done at home, and she would spend the rest of her
time auditioning. She made her TV debut in 2004, when she was chosen to play
the character as Laurie Partridge on the VH1 reality show In Search of the
Partridge Family. It was followed by a number of smaller TV roles in the years
to follow. After a number of performances she was chosen to portray the
character of Jules in Superbad (2007). Her success as Olive was a highlight of
her role in Easy A (2010) followed by a string more roles. She attended Xavier
College Preparatory, Phoenix, Arizona. Although she's a redhead, the hair color
that is natural to her hair is blonde. It was Judd Apatow who suggested she
change her hair color for Superbad (2007) and she liked it so much that she
chose to keep it. At age 15, she persuaded her parents to allow her to move to
Hollywood through an PowerPoint presentation appropriately titled Project
Hollywood. When she was 11 years old she started acting in the Valley Youth
Theatre, Phoenix, AZ. There, she appeared in 16 stage productions as well as in
the comedy Improv troupe. Caylee Cowan was also an actor at the Valley Youth
Theatre.
